What we can do to help
When you first get in touch with us, we will ask for some basic details such as your name, age and address.
You will then be invited to come to meet one of our navigators, at a time and place that suits you. Your navigator is the person who will support you every step of the way through the programme, helping you get the support you need from different services and organisations.
You will be asked to bring evidence of your right to live and work in the UK, such as a passport or birth certificate to the first meeting, but don’t worry if you don’t have one. Just tell us and we can help you get one.
At the first meeting, the navigator will ask you questions about your situation and what you would like to achieve. They will talk to you to try to identify what barriers might be preventing you from finding work or training.
If the navigator thinks Step Forward Tees Valley could help you, you will be accepted on the programme. If not, they will try and put you in touch with other services or organisations that might be better placed to help.
Once you have been accepted on the programme, you will meet your navigator regularly and work out a clear action plan to help you overcome your barriers and eventually find a job or a training course. Your navigator will help you get support from our partners who offer a wide range of services and can give you the practical help you need to move on and get a job.
