If so, Step Forward Tees Valley could be for you!

We are committed to helping you overcome the barriers that have prevented you from finding work or getting training before. 


We will work hard to make sure you get the support you need as quickly as possible.


To be eligible for the programme, these barriers could include:


  • Mental-Ill Health

  • Financial Inclusion

  • Digital Inclusion

  • Substance/Alcohol Misuse

  • Housing Issues

  • Long Term Health Issues

  • Offending or Re-offending

  • Domestic Abuse

  • Disability

  • Isolation

  • Basic Skills

  • Any other barrier

Once you are accepted onto the programme you will be assigned to a navigator who will give you the one-to-one support you need. Your navigator will be with you every step of the way, reviewing what help you need and ensuring you get the right support from a range of specialist services, helping you build on your strengths. These services include: 

  • Health and wellbeing - if you have health issues that are preventing you from finding work we can help. An experienced team of health link workers are here to support you on your journey and will work with you to better manage any psychological/physical health conditions you may have. We will advise and guide you towards accessing any specialist health care whilst working with you one-to-one on improving your overall wellbeing.

  • Digital inclusion - helping you improve your digital skills and knowledge

  • Financial inclusion - if there are financial reasons holding you back

  • Specialist employment skills, enterprise, and work experience -  when you are ready, we can help you find work

  • Volunteering - if you want to volunteer we can put you in touch with activities that will directly benefit your community. For more information click here.


As you go through the programme, we will ask you to give us feedback so we can improve the service we offer. You could also train to become a peer mentors, offering support to other people in your situation.
